Pictionary & Pizza

The Richards had our sunday school class over for a fun night of pictionary and pizza. It was so fun to have the whole family there....mommies, daddies, and babies! We missed Angela and baby Gentry! The babies were so good, considering how loud we all were. Harper loved being held by everyone, he moved from lap to lap all night long. Thanks to the Richards for hosting such a fabulous pizza making party!

Where are all the babies??

5 week checkup

Well Harper weighed in at 8 pounds 10.5 ounces and measured 20.75 inches long. His measurements put him in the 20th percentile for his age. He had gained 2 pounds and grew 2 inches since his last appointment! Milk...it really does a boy good!

Nurse Nora gave him a Hepatitis B shot and he was so brave. He only made a terrible face and then went right back to sleep. Dr. Herrin said he was a healthy, growing little mr. Our next appointment is in one month.

Birthdays!

Yesterday was my 27th birthday and Harper's one month birthday! Harper gave me the best birthday present by sleeping through the night once again!! I actually had a dream lastnight, something that I have been deprived of for the last month!

Well Harper had his first (and favorite) babysitter lastnight......Aunt Jules!! Cam had planned an evening out for my birthday so Aunt Jules volunteered to babysit. I carefully wrote out instructions and showed Julie where to find the important items... or so I thought.....I was sure I had covered the basis, but at dinner I realized I had forgotten to tell her to warm up his bottle! Oops! I was praying he didn't get a brain freeze. I made it the whole night without calling to check on the little guy! I did call on the way home to let Julie know we were on our way, but I was so proud I made it that long!

When we got home Harper was sound asleep! Julie said he was a good baby and then told us about the golden shower she got! I forgot to leave out the pee pee teepees! So Harper showed her what little boys are capable of! He tinkled all over himself, a burp cloth, swaddler, onesie and Aunt Jules!

Harper had a great surprise for mommy last night...........he slept for 7 hours! He will be four weeks old tomorrow, but what a good sleeper! I am trying to remember everything I ate and did yesterday because I want this to be his normal routine! Dare I say he's sleeping through the night......I don't want to jinx it!

The last 4 weeks have required me getting up to feed Harper every 3 to 4 hours. I am a girl who loves to sleep so this has been very hard....definitely the hardest adjustment to make. Putting him to sleep is different each night...sometimes he's swaddled, sometimes he wears a gown, sometimes he has his paci! Well lastnight he cried himself to sleep with no paci and was swaddled. Maybe that is the trick! Usually I'm up at least 5 times just to put his paci back in his mouth!

Mommys and Babies

We still haven't figured out what was in the orange juice at church.......because there have been a lot of beautiful babies born in our sunday school class this summer. We are so blessed to have so many friends with babies the same age as Harper.

Every Tuesday night the daddys go and play call of duty while the mommys and babies go out to dinner. Tonight we met at El Bosque for some delicious Mexican food. It is so fun to take the babies out, share stories, and watch them grow up together.

Aunt Heather Visits

For Labor day weekend Harper's favorite Aunt Heather flew down from Kansas City for a visit. She was so glad to meet her one and only nephew! Harper had many firsts while she was in town..... first time to Pappasitos, shopping in the Woodlands with the girls, and first time to Grammy and Poppys house! We love when Aunt Heather comes to visit!
