Mommy & Me Mondays

On most Mondays around noon you can find me and Harper at Pie in the Sky with our friends. It started out as a fun thing to do in the summer while we waited for our babies to arrive, but now it is a way of staying sane! This week I decided to invite the mommys and babies over to our house for lunch and a playdate. The babies are getting where they smile and talk to their toys so I thought a playdate would be fun and...........It was sooo much fun!!

I have never used our china, crystal, or anything "nice" that Cam and I registered for when we got married and I decided it was time to put it to use. I set the dining room table and prepared a fun "girly" menu. I served chicken salad, croissants, tortellini, salad, sorbet, and pumpkin lattes. Those are some of my favorite dishes that I don't eat very often because they're a little to girly for my meat and potatos husband!

The babies stayed busy sitting in the bumbo, swinging, bouncing, and playing on the playmat while we enjoyed our lunch. It was a baby wonderland in my living room. After lunch we all sat on the floor and cooed over our babies until they all crashed out. I have such amazing friends, Harper is the youngest of his friends and I learn so much from my friends! Thanks Angela, Ashley, & Lisa! God knew I couldn't have had a baby on my own, so he blessed me with such wonderful mommy friends! Here are some of the pics from our fabulous playdate!

The Liveable Forest

Last week Cam had to take a trip to New York for work so Harper and I packed up and headed over to Kingwood for a couple of days. This was our first time to stay the night with Grammy and Poppy. On Wednesday I met a friend from high school, Lindsey Cooper Greathouse and her little boy, Luke, for lunch. It was so great to catch up and talk about "our boys." She lives in Fredricksburg and is in a bible study with my college roomie, Evan! What a small world! That night we went to church and got to go to my mom's mom to mom class that she teaches. She loved introducing Harper to all of her girls!

I was a little nervous about the sleeping arrangements because Harper sleeps in his big boy crib every night and he had slept all the way through the night (10pm-7am) on Tuesday! My mom borrowed a crib from her friend and Harper slept and napped really well! I was so excited because "if baby ain't happy ain't nobody happy!" On Thursday Poppy watched Harper while mom and I worked out! It was so nice to work out! I can never go because Harper is too little to take to the gym nursery. After that we went shopping and had lunch at Chelseas, my favorite! That night Harper and I went to visit the Jenna & Saige. It was so fun to watch them interact. Harper is getting such a little personality!

Well we had such a nice visit with Grammy & Poppy. They were so nice to let the whole family, even Baxter come invade their house for a couple of days! Harper is lucky to have such fun grandparents!

The Pick of the Patch

On Sunday all of the families in our Sunday school class from First Baptist Conroe went to the Pumpkin Patch! We had a blast taking a million photos of all of the babies. Cam just bought a Canon Digital Rebel and was dying to try it out! He took lots of precious pictures, I'll post some of my favorites. It's amazing how much better these pictures look with the new camera.

I must admit that the pumpkin patch was just for the parents. The babies had no idea what was going on. It was extremely hot so we didn't end up putting Harper in his cow Halloween costume. In fact, we took off his shirt and let him hang out in just his corduroy overalls. Next year maybe we'll go on the hayride and ride the train! It will be neat to see how much he has changed by next October.

2 months old

Harper went to visit Dr. Herrin for his 2 month check up today. Can he already be 2 months old?? Crrrr-azy! At this appointment he was susposed to get 4 vaccinations, but after much debate we've decided to space out his shots. So today he got 2 shots rather than 4. I think he has a high pain tolerance. He just make a little scream and then went back to sucking his paci. What would we do with out the paci? Here are his 2 month stats....
weight 11 lbs .5 oz 40%
height 21 5/8 in 10 %
head 15 1/2 in 45%

Baby Bears

Lastnight, we attended the Montgomery County Baylor Scholarship dinner at Fellowship of the Woodlands. Cam was the MC for the night and made sure to let everyone know that he married at Aggie! We sponsored a table and invited our Baylor friends Ashley, Travis, & baby Cooper....and Ricky, Angela, & baby Gentry. The boys were sooo good and the center of attention with their Baylor Bibs. So here are some pictures of the future Baylor Bears.

Sharty Time

Allyson, Rebecca, Bradi (Aidan!),Cristina, & Alicia

Okay, let me explain........a sharty is a name for a shower/party. My friends from college wanted to get together and have a baby shower for me and Harper, but it wasn't going to be a true baby shower it was more like a party.......so that's how the name sharty came to fruition.

So today we had a sharty for my good friend Bradi. She is expecting a baby boy, Aidan Eugene Redmon, in late December. Yay! another buddy for Harper to play with. All of my friends are having baby boys! Bradi looked fabulous-she had the pregnant glow.

It was such a great afternoon....I got to see all my college roomies. It is so fun when we all get together, which isn't very often. We normally have Roomie Weekend, but this summer we didn't because Bradi and I were pregnant. Rebecca and Cristina drove down from Dallas. Only Bradi had met Harper so it was good to introduce him to the girls. After a delicious lunch we headed over to Bradi and Lance's house to see Aidan's nursery. It is super cute.....I know Aidan will have so much fun exploring in his cool room.

Congratulations to Bradi and Lance.......I cannot wait to meet your sweet baby.

Mallrats

This week our pals Ashley and Cooper took us on our first expedition into Houston. Ashley just got a new car, a "mom" car that could fit 2 babies, 2 moms, and all the baby gear. It was nice to have an adult conversation while going somewhere, and I think the boys enjoyed being backseat buddies!

We left Conroe about 10 and hit up Rice Village first. It was susposed to be a gorgeous fall day, and it was when we left, but by the time we got the babies out, it was blazing! We shopped around the Village and enjoyed some TCBY...my absolute favorite. Next, we went to the Galleria, the mecca of children's clothing. We decided to valet park the car because we had so much gear with us and we could not find a decent parking spot. Before having Harper I really never saw the point in valet parking, but with all the gear you have to carry everywhere, it was the best $5 spend all day!

The Galleria just got a new baby store called Crazy 8's. There are just 2 in Texas. It has some really cute clothes that are very affordable.. Cooper and Harper got matching onesies! I also got Harper a cow halloween costume at Baby Gap. He's going to look utterly handsome!!

We had a fun day together. The boys were soooo good! Much thanks to Ashley for driving and taking us on our first roadtrip to Houston! Let's do it again real soon!

Thunderpants

On Monday night Cam and I decided that we needed a hot fudge sundae, one of my favorite cravings while I was pregnant. So we loaded up Harper and went out for a treat. We ordered our ice cream and devoured it in the parking lot. Harper usually goes to sleep as soon as I start the car, but tonight he was really fussy. Well, all of the sudden he had a volanic eruption and then went right to sleep. When we got home he was sound asleep, so I left him in his carseat while I finished the dishes. I finished the dishes and went to go pick him up and felt so bad because his back was wet. The poor little guys sweats a ton, and I felt so bad for leaving him in his carseat! As I picked him up Cam started laughing and pointing......well the pictures tell the rest of the story............

Ranch Weekend

This weekend Cam and I took Harper to the family ranch in Centerville. It was his first time to the ranch. He wore his camo romper so he could be just like his daddy and Uncle Casey! His daddy worked outside most of the trip and hunted a little bit. There will be many more trips to the ranch in Harper's future. Here are some pictures from the fun weekend.

Kindermusik

My friend Lisa invited me to a Kindermusik class. Harper, Addy, Cooper, and 2 other little babies were the only ones in the group so it kind of felt like we had a private session! We all sat on a mat with our babies and sang the "Hello-lah," did some stretching and massaging, jingled some balls, threaded the needle with scarves, waltzed with the babies, and sang "farewell now." It was a pretty fun class. Harper slept the entire time! I bought the "baby's home cd" that has all the songs that we sang. When Harper gets fussy I put on the cd and he starts to smile and coo! So cute! I guess he is listening while he sleeps after all! I think we're going to join the class. .....Research has proven that music introduced at an early age improves a child's ability to think, reason, create, and express.

Oklahoma is O.K

What a fun week we had in Oklahoma introducing Harper to the rest of the family. On Monday morning we woke up and started to pack Grammy and Poppy's car.....stroller, swing, carseat, portable bed, playmat, and overflowing diaper bag.........wow! That's just for Harper! Time for a bigger car!

We managed to get ourselves in the car and then off to Oklahoma! The way to Oklahoma was great. Harper slept most of the morning. I wasn't sure how the trip was going to go, but it went much better than expected.Thank goodness that Harper likes his car seat. I must confess that I did take him out of his car seat when he woke up from his nap!! I know, I know.......kinda Brittany Spears like! I changed me first poopy diaper in the car...on my lap! Interesting! We stopped for lunch at Chili's in Dallas and Harper was all smiles. His Grammy was getting in some quality time, he loves his Grammy's voice. He couldn't stop smiling and giggling! It was darling!! Poppy tried to blow bubbles at him and he got this frightened look on his face! What a personality he is getting!

When we got back in the car, Harper went back to sleep and woke up 15 minutes before we arrived in Henryetta. I changed his clothes and got him ready to meet his Great Granddaddy and Great Grammy. He is their first great grandchild. That evening he met lots of family...Aunt Jan, Uncle Randy, Uncle Jimmy, and Cousins Tyler and Lori. We had so much seeing everyone. He was passed around all night. His feet never touched the ground!

On Tuesday, we traveled to Tulsa to visit Great Mimi, Grandpere', Aunt Heather, and the Nantz gang. We first visited Montereau and Harper loved the attention he was getting from all the residents! He slept through lunch and then woke up when we were telling everyone goodbye.... but not to worry his cry got 4 nurses' attention!

That afternoon we went to Broken Arrow to see the Nantzs. Harper loves his twin cousins Wyatt and Luke. They were napping when we arrived, but woke up in time to meet baby Harper. We enjoyed a short visit and then off to Goldies we went to meet Aunt Kay, Cousin Will and Phoebe. Will had driven in from OSU (go pokes!) to meet Harper. We ate lots of pickles from the pickle bar and enjoyed the delicious food and great company! Wow! What a busy day!

We rounded out the perfect trip with a visit from my little sis, Abby. She drove all the way from Stillwater to come and see us. Thanks Ab! It had been 2 years since we'd seen each other. Wow! It was so fun to catch up and introduce her to Harper. Maybe there will be a little Grantham soon!

Well our trip was fantastic! Thanks to Grammy and Poppy for letting us tag along! We look forward to visiting Oklahoma again soon!
