Harper's 1st sleepover

This is the picture my dad emailed us to let us know they didn't "spoil" Harper!

Cam and I had a Christmas Party to go to on Friday night. It was officially our first night to go out alone and Harpers first time to spend the night away from mommy. I was really looking forward to a night out with friends and then a chance to SLEEP IN in the morning. Since I am still nursing I haven't been able to sleep past 8am in 4 months!

I was planning on dropping Harper off early so I could finish some Christmas shopping, but Harper got his first cold. I spent a lot of the morning on the phone with the nurse and then at Wal-mart buying everything she told me he needed......humidifier, dimetapp, simply saline, karo syrup, and a bulb syringe. Then I spent the rest of the day packing Harper's bag. I didn't realize how much he needed now that he had a cold and started rice cereal!

I dropped him off at Grammy and Poppy's house and didn't even cry. I knew he would be very well taken care of, and he was!
Here are some pictures of Cam and I at the "Dorkiest Sweater Party"

sorry I don't know how to rotate the pic!

4 months old

Harper is 4 months old. Each month I think it couldn't possibly get any better than this and.......it does! I love this stage! Harper smiles more than ever, everywhere we go people comment on his heart warming smiles. He is such a happy baby......I think it really has something to do with me reading Babywise four times! He coos and talks when he likes something. He is so strong too. He loves to be pulled up and stand on his own while you hold his hands. It seems like he is fascinated with all toys and puts everything in his mouth. My favorite part of the day is breakfast time. He started rice cereal and loves it. I can't get it to his mouth fast enough. Since he is eating more, his schedule has changed. He only eats 4 times a day..... Such a textbook baby!

Four Month Stats
-weight 13 lbs
-height 24 inches

Baby Aidan has arrived

My sweet friend and roomie from college, Bradi Redmon, just had a precious baby boy! Aidan Eugene Redmon (Eugene is a family name...I think she would want you to know that :)) was born on December 20th at 1:52 pm. He was 8 pounds 10 ounces and 19.5 inches long. I think Bradi and Lance are in love! We can't wait for Aidan and Harper to put on their camo and go hunting with their daddies! Here is a picture of the newest Redmon. Congratulations Bradi and Lance!

Santa Baby!

We went to Deerbrook Mall to have a special visit with Santa Clause. Harper sat on his lap and told him everything he wanted for Christmas.......More rice cereal, pacis, and a baby sister! ha ha, he won't be getting the latter anytime soon.

Look at me!

I put together Harper's Baby Einstein Play Gym today. Oh boy, he will be entertained for hours! He played in it for about 30 minutes before he got overstimulated. His little toes barely touched the bottom. He just kicked and cooed, it was so neat to see him explore and discover all the toys. Here are some pictures of him in this cool contraption!

Happy Birthday, Jesus

We had so much fun at the first annual Happy Birthday Jesus Party. Angela and Gentry hosted this party and it was so special. We were all talking about starting Christmas traditions with our children and this one is the first. Angela read The Christmas Story and gave each of the boys their very own copy. We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and ate delicious chocolate birthday cake. The boys watched Baby Einstein Christmas while the mom's gabbed and ate chili. I have the best friends in the world. Harper is going to be so lucky to grow up with awesome friends. I know Cam and I are so blessed to raise children with some of the best. This has already been such a special baby's first Christmas!

Baby Dedication

Mommy, Daddy, & Harper

Last Sunday, The Heathcott family along with the Matthew, Dupuis, Holcomb, and Webb family dedicated ourselves to raise our children in a christian home. It was a very important day for us because Cam and I were both raised in a Christian home and eagerly want to teach Harper what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Cam was dedicated at First Baptist Conroe twenty something years ago, so it really special to dedicate Harper at the same church. Our friends and family came to witness this special event.

Harper did pretty well during the service. It was susposed to be his nap time but I fed him right before church started so he'd be awake. He was awake but somehow between Sunday School and Church we lost his paci. He only likes a certain kind of paci and I didn't have a back up. I was frantically searching for it, and could only find the kind he wouldn't take. He looked out at the congregation while Cam held him. He spit out the unlikeable paci several times! After we sat back down and sweet man came up during the greeting and asked if we had lost a paci! That's all it took for Harper to sleep quietly through the rest of the service.

After many pictures with our friends, we treated our family and friends to Steak & Ale. Harper wanted nothing but to be in his own bed. He was pretty exhausted from the busy day and so were his parents!!

The Mudpie Company

This morning we woke early to get ready for a fun day in Kingwood. We met up with our friends Angela & Gentry, Ashley & Cooper, Saige & Jenna, and Kristen & Caden. We went to a pottery place called The Mudpie Company for storytime. We read Grumpy Santa and made a Cookies for Santa plate. The plates turned out so cute. We used the babies fingerprints for lightbulbs and put their footprint in the middle of the plate. I was worried that maybe the babies were too young for this activity, but I was wrong they all did so good. I think we'll definitely be going back to make something for Father's Day!

After we painted we went to my mom's house for a yummy lunch. We ate Chelsea's chicken salad, a must if you visit Kingwood and my mom's famous fruit pizza. I'm pretty sure it's not on weight watchers!! My mom watched the babies while we hit up a few of the local baby stores. It was such a great day. I think everyone is now ready for babies first Christmas!!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a week ago, but I wanted to post these pictures, better late than never!
We had a very nice Thanksgiving in Centerville with the Heathcott side of the family. We have so much to be thankful for!

Big Bear Ranch

Gentry, Harper, & Cooper

A couple of weekends ago we invited our friends the Matthews, Dupuis, Selfs, and Beals up to the ranch. We crammed 10 people and 3 babies into the ranch house! Talk about a tight squeeze! The guys hunted most of the weekend while the girls relaxed and played with the babies. The girls managed to sneak out of the house for a ride on the Ranger. On Saturday night we went to the Leona General Store and had a steak. The General Store only serves steak or chicken, potatos, and an iceberg lettuce salad with ranch!! At the General Store we made friends with some folks from Baylor and they insisted we sing the Baylor Line to the whole restaurant! It was such a fun weekend!

3 Months Old

First off let me say, I can't even believe I'm writing this!! Three months old already, time really does fly! We went to visit Dr. Herrin last week to get another round of shots. Harper only got 2 shots at his 2 month check up. We decided to space the first round of shots out because I wasn't sure how I felt about vaccinations. Of course we were going to vacinate Harper, but I wanted to space out the shots. All this to say that we didn't get the full check up this month because there usually are not 3 month check ups! So here are his stats......Weight 12.4 pounds!

Praise Baby

Many of Harper's friends have found the television. Their mommies love it because the babies are so fascinated with it. So today I decided to introduce Harper to the T.V. I put him in the bouncy chair right in front of the television. He loved it! He watched praise baby and just cooed and drooled. It was precious. I loved singing along with it.(no one was home :))I can't describe the feeling of singing praise songs to a precious little baby. I pray that he comes to know God at an early age.

It's Heffer, not Harper!

Here are some Halloween pictures of our little cow. We decided he should be in the new

My Favorite Things

Okay so Oprah has a show dedicated to her favorite things, so I'm going to have a blog post about my favorite things! I have several pregnant friends and they asked me what they needed to get for their babies. When I was registering for baby items I had no idea what to register for. I asked my girlfriends what they recommended, but we were all first time moms around the same time and had no idea. Here are some things that I love and couldn't make it with out.

-A video monitor-mine is by Summer, it's awesome! I can look at sweet Harper sleep and know when the paci fell out, if the blanket is on his face, or if he is waking up happy. A must have!!
-Mam pacifiers-the only kind of paci harper likes, and all of his friends use them too...weird!
-A paci clip-Harper is always dropping his paci, with a paci clip it stays off the dirty floor.
-ebay - I buy so many NWT smocked outfits on ebay, great deals.
rain forest bouncer- this is great when they are newborns without the toy bar, and then around 2-3 months they are entertained for hours with the toy bar!
Medela shields-the easiest and most comfortable way to nurse
Boppy pillow- an easy way to nurse, and great to prop up a baby for special time

There are so many great things out there for babies! It's a wonderful thing to have wonderful products to take care of sweet baby Harper

Mommy & Me Mondays

On most Mondays around noon you can find me and Harper at Pie in the Sky with our friends. It started out as a fun thing to do in the summer while we waited for our babies to arrive, but now it is a way of staying sane! This week I decided to invite the mommys and babies over to our house for lunch and a playdate. The babies are getting where they smile and talk to their toys so I thought a playdate would be fun and...........It was sooo much fun!!

I have never used our china, crystal, or anything "nice" that Cam and I registered for when we got married and I decided it was time to put it to use. I set the dining room table and prepared a fun "girly" menu. I served chicken salad, croissants, tortellini, salad, sorbet, and pumpkin lattes. Those are some of my favorite dishes that I don't eat very often because they're a little to girly for my meat and potatos husband!

The babies stayed busy sitting in the bumbo, swinging, bouncing, and playing on the playmat while we enjoyed our lunch. It was a baby wonderland in my living room. After lunch we all sat on the floor and cooed over our babies until they all crashed out. I have such amazing friends, Harper is the youngest of his friends and I learn so much from my friends! Thanks Angela, Ashley, & Lisa! God knew I couldn't have had a baby on my own, so he blessed me with such wonderful mommy friends! Here are some of the pics from our fabulous playdate!

The Liveable Forest

Last week Cam had to take a trip to New York for work so Harper and I packed up and headed over to Kingwood for a couple of days. This was our first time to stay the night with Grammy and Poppy. On Wednesday I met a friend from high school, Lindsey Cooper Greathouse and her little boy, Luke, for lunch. It was so great to catch up and talk about "our boys." She lives in Fredricksburg and is in a bible study with my college roomie, Evan! What a small world! That night we went to church and got to go to my mom's mom to mom class that she teaches. She loved introducing Harper to all of her girls!

I was a little nervous about the sleeping arrangements because Harper sleeps in his big boy crib every night and he had slept all the way through the night (10pm-7am) on Tuesday! My mom borrowed a crib from her friend and Harper slept and napped really well! I was so excited because "if baby ain't happy ain't nobody happy!" On Thursday Poppy watched Harper while mom and I worked out! It was so nice to work out! I can never go because Harper is too little to take to the gym nursery. After that we went shopping and had lunch at Chelseas, my favorite! That night Harper and I went to visit the Jenna & Saige. It was so fun to watch them interact. Harper is getting such a little personality!

Well we had such a nice visit with Grammy & Poppy. They were so nice to let the whole family, even Baxter come invade their house for a couple of days! Harper is lucky to have such fun grandparents!
