Easter Playdate

Not sure what to think of the chick

Our friends Aimee and Tyler had us over today for an Easter Play date. When we walked in they gave Harper a pair of bunny ears and showed us a very cool surprise. Aimee's mom had gone to a feed store and bought 3 baby chicks for the kids to look at, rather play with! These cool chicks were the hit of the party! Harper loved them! I thought about bringing one home, but Cam would probably kill me! I'm not sure how long these little guys are going to last after their fun with the kiddos today!

Aimee also hosted an Easter Egg Hunt at her parents cabin. They have the perfect yard for a hunt! This was our first time to "hunt" eggs and Harper is the perfect age for hunting. He ran to the eggs and would yell "open, open, open" and then devour whatever was inside. It was so cute to see him holding his Easter Basket. I can't wait for Sunday so we can do it again!

He was squealing the entire car ride home. Sugar overload!!!!!

So bummed the hunt is over, check out the chocolate on his shirt!

Aloha, Part 1

Cam and I got to go on a much needed vacation to Kauai, HI over "Spring Break!" (can I call it spring break??) A huge THANK YOU to my parents for letting Harper take a little vaca at their house for the week!! Our hotel

Cam and I flew out Tuesday morning and arrived in Hawaii 11 hours later! We met up with our friends Josh and Ashlee whom we met in Italy and hadn't seen since! Last time we hung out I was pregnant, and 9 months later they had Baby Hannah!

After landing in Hawaii we went straight to Hertz and rented our convertible Mustang aka Mustang Sally! (lovingly named after my mom) If you go to beautiful, sunny Hawaii you MUST get a convertible! It totally made the trip...Cruisin' was was much fun! We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. The accommodations were incredible! Unfortunately, we just slept at the hotel and spent 1 day at the pool/beach. There was so much that we wanted to do. The rest of the week was spent exploring the island. Thanks to our gps, Hertz never lost, (must get one of those) we were able to go everywhere. Here are a few of our highlights and a list of things to do if you ever find yourself on the island.

One night we had appetizers at Beach House and watched the sunset followed by fresh fish tacos at Keoki's Paradise. This place is way better than Berryhill and had live music!

Spouting Horn was a little overrated... it is a blowhole that spurts water in the air when water rushes under a lava shelf. There was a market located nearby that sold fresh water pearls so that was a plus!
Spouting Horn
We spend a whole day making our way to Waimea Canyon. We stopped along the way at local farmer's markets and purchased fresh fruit! We tried applebananas, tangelos, and rambutons! Delish!! (I want a garden!) We stopped at the State Park and hiked for about 2 hours in the midst of gigantic Sequoia trees.

Our friend Josh is a surfer! We spend several hours looking for the "surf." I had no idea how many conditions had to be present in order to surf. Here is a picture of Josh with his 4th board to rent......long story! On this particular day we watched him surf until sunset. Josh riding his "rip stick" with board in hand!

This is Hawaii's equivalent to a taco stand in Texas! We stopped in a little town on the west shore and had the BEST coconut shrimp!

One morning we got up at 5 am to watch the Baylor basketball game. So while Cam was cheering on the bears, I went and layed in the hammock and watched the sunrise. I need to do this more often.

There was a luau at the hotel and I got called up on stage to dance! So here are my blackmail pictures from Cam. Please notice what my partner is wearing!

A Tea Party

This weekend Harper and I went to a Tea Party in Kingwood hosted my our friends Katie and Taylor. All of us have grew up going to church together since we were little. Katie and Taylor live in Dallas so Harper and I got meet Taylor for the first time! Taylor was the only girl!! Has anyone else noticed that all of my friends have boys?? The kids enjoyed meeting their new friends and as usual Harper ate most of the time we were there! He loves to snack!! Thank you for getting us all together Katie!

Spring has Sprung

I looked out my kitchen window this week and it was GREEN! It happened overnight! I could have sworn there were bare branches last night. I have been staring at them for months! All of the sudden everything is in bloom and green! If you know me you know how much I love change. So I was so ready for daylight savings! Even just a hour more of sunshine makes me so happy! Harper and I have spent so much time outside this week. I am an outdoors girls at heart. I don't like camping or some of those other things done in the "wild", but I do love fresh air!

I have been working extra hard in our yard trying to get rid of the weeds. When we bought this house we were not in our right minds. Cam hates yard work and we purchased this house that sits on 2 lots and is ALL flower beds. The people that built it had NO children and poured all of their money into the yard!! Well we have a 18 months old and my hubby has way too many hobbies. So I trying to keep everything alive in our "arboretum."

Here are some pics of us being OUTSIDE!

Priceless Gowns

This weekend I was able to be apart of an awesome ministry at First Baptist Conroe. Last year my Sunday School class started up "Priceless Gowns" because we all had a bunch of dresses that we were not likely to wear anymore. So our mission became to give away FREE prom dresses to girls in Montgomery County. We wanted to be positive role models and encourage girls in our area to be successful . Times are tough, particularly right now, so what an awesome time to help out, regardless of financial or family circumstances.

So after months of organizing, tagging, hanging, cleaning, sizing, sewing, decorating not to mention contacting businesses, newspapers, and photographers our day was a success!! We had girls walk away with a dress, shoes, jewelry, make-up, Bible, and a hair appointment!! It was so awesome to see this girls who would otherwise not go to prom be completely taken care of. I hope that each one felt God's love.
We well be hosting Priceless Gowns again this Saturday, March 7th from 9-1 at FBC Conroe.

My Shadow

Mama and Harper..besties

I am a stay at home mom. I have the best job in the world. No, it is not easy or glamorous, but I LOVE it. I am right where God wants me, doing the job he has called me to do. Harper has reached the age where we can "play" together. He imitates everything I do, the good and the bad! What ever I do he wants to do too. He is my little shadow. He takes one nap a day, so I get to play with him non stop all morning, which can be exhausting. Then when he goes down for a nap I do to. All this to say that I love staying home with him! Yes, we leave the house, but we are very content to just hang out in our pjs all day! I love being a mom!

I heart them

Here are a few pictures of my boys on Valentine's Days. We had a fun-filled day together as a family. We started off our morning with some yummy homemade pancakes. Then we were off to The Woodlands to go the museum and park to feed the ducks. Side note- that is the lake I will swim in for the tri! Not sure what I think about that.Picasso Yippee!
So proud of himself
